Bible Study - AFTER LIFE - The Life I Live in This Body

Sermon-Based Bible Study – May 2, 2021
- What is something God has done for you that you are thankful for or are celebrating? How have you experienced God’s love and faithfulness this week?
- Where are you experiencing stress, anxiety or discouragement? How would you like to see God move in your life or in the life of someone close to you?
- What did you hear in this week’s sermon that was new or particularly interesting? Did anything stand out to you as puzzling or troubling?
- To begin, consider asking one of the questions below:
- What are some ways that you try to “add to” the work of Jesus because you feel as though you aren’t “doing enough”?
- What are some patterns or “old ditches” that you step into from time-to-time?
- Galatians 2:20 reads, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
- Christ gave himself for you. His sacrifice is enough. Why is it necessary for Christians to continually revisit this great truth?
- In his sermon, Chris stated, “We’ll rest in His grace and silence the calls to return to slavery.” What are some of the lies or falsehoods that stand in the way of you resting fully in the grace of Jesus?
- We live by faith in the Son of God; faith that his presence is inside of us. How can we position ourselves to pay attention to this indwelling presence?
- Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, died a sacrificial death, and rose to life on the third day! How does this Good News compel you to trust in him daily? Is there someone in your life who needs to hear this message of grace?
- What is a simple, next step you could take in obedience to what the Spirit is saying to you through this time in the Word? Who would benefit, or be interested in hearing about what you’ve learned in this study?
