The Captives Came Home!
The book of Ezra tells of how the Captives Came Home. God keeps His promises. Zerubbabel led God's people back to the temple to rebuild it. The temple was the place where God met with His people on earth. Jesus came to earth to rescue God’s people. One day Jesus will return to restore a greater home for all of God's people, and we will spend eternity with Him. Read the story in Ezra.
- What is a Temple?
- In the Old Testament, it was the place where God met with His people on earth. Now it is often associated with a religious house of worship - similar to the building we call "church".
- Do we have to go to the church building or a temple for God to hear us or be with us?
- NO! Because of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, He brings us to God. His sacrifice made us right with God. (2 Corinthians 5: 18-21)
- Spend time praying and thanking God for Jesus. Pray over your kids - praying that they would come to know Jesus as their personal Savior!
