Follow Jesus Activity

READ:  Matthew 4:18-22 - 

EXPERIENCE THE STORY: Follow the Leader - Family Style

• The leader begins by doing actions that the rest of the players must copy. Anything — what the leader does, the others must follow. 
• The players who do not mimic, or lag behind the leader’s motions are out of the game. 
• The last person standing becomes the new leader.
• To make it more fun, you can add music and have the leader do dance moves that the rest must copy.
• Ask the kids if it was easy/hard to follow the leader. Tell them that sometimes it is hard to follow Jesus - but it is always worth it! 

REFLECT: (Page 96 Jesus Next Door)

• What does it mean to follow Jesus?
• When are times in your life that are hard to follow Jesus?
• What does it look like to follow Jesus every day? Give examples. 

PRAY: (Page 96  Jesus Next Door)

• God, please show me any ways that I am being stubborn and not following Jesus
• God, helps me to recognize the goodness of Jesus and help me trust Him. 
• God, help my family and neighbors see the benefit of following Jesus.
